  • Julia Farrell Diefenbach (she/her)

    Managing Director & Director of Marketing & PR

    is thrilled to step into her new role at Artemisia, bringing a blend of experience and a deep love for immersive storytelling. Having served as Director of Marketing and Social Media at Haven Chicago and as Associate Artistic Director of The Halogen Company, Julia's journey is one marked by exploration and pushing limits.

    After graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in directing and a minor in stage combat, Julia has had the privilege of collaborating with theatres such as Victory Gardens, Citadel Theatre, Midsommer Flight, Firebrand Theatre, Broken Nose Theatre, and Collaboraction. With gratitude for her opportunities, Julia looks forward to contributing her skills and passion to Artemisia, hoping to continue learning and evolving in this vibrant artistic community.

  • Julie Jachym (she/they)

    Production Manager

    is a Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, and Production Manager based in Chicago.

    Julie has worked with many theatres in the Chicagoland area, including Steppenwolf Theatre, Teatro Vista, Definition Theatre, Writers Theatre, Northlight Theatre, Congo Square Theatre, Filament Theatre, Steep Theatre, American Blues Theater, The Goodman Theatre, UIC Theatre, Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, Sideshow Theater Company, and others. They received their BA in Theatre at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In her spare time, Julie likes taking care of her plants, reading books, and hanging out with her cat, Marinara.

    Julie is a Definition Theatre Ensemble Member and is currently working with Teatro Vista as their resident Production Consultant and Coordinator.

  • Jessica Swim (she/her)

    President

    is a nonprofit professional with a passion for theatre and social justice. She believes the two work beautifully together in the fight for a better world. Since receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Theatrical Studies, Jessica has enjoyed exploring different aspects of theatre, from dramaturgy, to acting, house management, directing, and marketing.

    She has worked with several activist and community-based theatres, including 20% Theatre, Collaboraction, and Artemisia Theatre (in the past and now excited to return!), aligning with her personal passion for giving voice to the unheard. She is currently on staff with Bring Your Own Theatre Company (BYOT) and a Board member of HOPE X ROPE, a Chicago nonprofit focused on empowering and bringing resources to Chicagoans on the South Side and throughout the city.

  • Lindsay Ann Koehler

    Treasurer

    One of the Co-Treasurers for Broadway In Chicago, Lindsay is thrilled to take part in Artemisia’s work! She graduated from Iowa State University with her degrees in Performing Arts and Journalism. Her past work includes stage managing for Oakton Community College and working crew for Drury Lane Theater.

  • Samie Jo Johnson (she/they)

    Secretary

    is an actor, writer, deviser, and director who has been working in Chicago for five years. Prior to landing in the Windy City, Samie Jo lived and worked in Seattle, Denver, England, Southern Indiana, and the many highways in between. Performance highlights include being ready to perform any character in Hamlet with Quicksilver Shakespeare in Chicago, dancing through the streets of Italy (literally) for a site-specific production of In. Sight. Out. with La Mama Umbria, and touring the midwest as a cowboy version of the good-guy, Lucentio, in Taming of the Shrew with Stone Soup Shakespeare. Samie Jo has trained in various theatre making techniques domestically & internationally and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from the University of Evansville.

  • Jabari Khaliq (he/him)

    since receiving his BFA in 2019, Jabari Khaliq (he/him) has dedicated his time to be an artist for other artists. An actor, photographer, videographer, and writer–Jabari has spent the beginning of his professional career elevating the art of others through his work in front of and behind the camera while carefully building his own brand.

    In 2014, he began Khaliq Photography and Khaliq Visuals in 2020 and has since collaborated with actors, musicians, writers, and producers on various projects while also working on numerous projects both on stage and on-camera. As long as there is someone’s story to tell, Jabari is committed to communicating and visualizing it to its maximized potential–especially stories from the voices of the unheard. Currently working as both a Chicago actor and a freelance visual artist, his recent credits include: Black Magic with Perceptions Theatre, Leftovers with Something Marvelous, and Genesis: 2020–an online visual project produced by Khaliq Visuals.

  • Sydni Charity Solomon (She/Her)

    is an award-winning actor and director, arts administrator, and theatre educator from Gainesville, Florida. She earned her BFA in Acting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she produced Transmigration, CCM’s student-devised festival, wrote and directed Healing Lucille, now available as an audio drama on Spotify, and directed the music video Without Love. She is drawn to Artemisia Theatre’s intersectional feminist mission and its commitment to creating radically transparent work that uplifts artists from historically marginalized communities.

  • Seoyoung Park

    Seoyoung Park is a Korean actor and arts administrator who considers Chicago her second home. Born and raised in Seoul, she moved to the U.S. to pursue an MFA in Acting at DePaul University, where she proudly graduated. She also holds a B.A. and M.A. in Acting from Chung-Ang University in Seoul.

    Her Chicago theatre credits include Tom & Eliza, Attempts on Her Life (Jeff Award for Best Ensemble), White Rabbit Red Rabbit, and The Long Christmas Dinner with TUTA Theatre, where she is an associate member, as well as The Heart Sellers at Northlight Theatre.

    Before relocating to Chicago, she built a diverse career in the Korean entertainment industry, appearing in a range of TV shows and films, including Criminal Minds and Don’t Dare to Dream.

    Beyond performance, Seoyoung has contributed to the field through administrative and leadership roles with CIPTF, APIDA Arts, Alien Theatre Company, and Artemisia Theatre. Her work is grounded in dedication, cultural exchange, and an unwavering passion for performance.

  • Candice Mason


    Candice (“CN”) is an educator, teaching artist, performer, scholar, and cultural worker. Her work exists at the intersections of Black feminist practice, theatre and dramatic studies, and liberatory pedagogy. 

    She is currently working on a research project that examines how Black women playwrights represent and articulate the angers of Black women and girls through theatrical texts and performance. 

    Some of her performance credits include work with Windy City Playhouse, Lifeline Theatre, and The Creative Co-Lab.
