Something Blue Opens October 25, 2012

Artemisia, A Chicago Theatre, will open Something Blue on October 25, 2012. This world premiere play is written by Julie Proudfoot and directed by Azar Kazemi. The play features David Blixt, known to audiences for his work at the Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare and Michigan Shakespeare Festival, and Julie Proudfoot, Artemisia's founding artistic director.

Something Blue is about the passionate but combative marriage between two creative types. Mia is an artist whose career is hamstrung by her husband, Parker, a struggling writer and closet conservative. To break out of her creative rut, Mia paints a disturbing self-portrait that drives Parker to violence and to question her sanity. As Mia regains her self-confidence, she makes a dangerous discovery that leads to a shocking twist in the play’s final scene.

Something Blue opens at the Fasseas White Box Theater @ The Drucker Center on October 25, 2012, and will run through Sunday, November 4, 2012. Showtimes on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday are 7:30 PM. Showtimes on Friday and Saturday are 8:00 PM. The play is dark Monday and Tuesday. Tickets will go on sale September 6, 2012.
